If you use Akismet with SK2 then all it does is add a small penalty to the comment, just like the other filters.

I mentioned the akismet plugin for SK2 in my config post

Thanks Andy. I will switch the capcha off.

The biggest problem with Akismet is that it catches the wrong people. I am not sure if you attempted to comment here on this new domain, if you did now you know what might have happened.

Vlad you can actually use them together often a much better combination - I don't because I haven't seen the need, though I moderate every comment.
Get the extra plugin to use them both together.

I have been using
http://blog.ftwr.co.uk/wordpress/sk2-moderate-plugin/

You have to switch the captcha off

With this enabled, all but you most loyal commenters end up in the SK moderation queue.

I don't bother editing links - if it is spam, I generally don't allow the comment. On Akismet due to collective intelligence you are basically saying the spam is ok if you approve it with the link removed.

I must admit I end up using the this is spam button a lot, but some of my most loyal readers came due to the links - I am sure they would stay if I changed.

I am awaiting the monetization solution that is coming.
