Are Your Ready For No-AdSense No-Adwords Day?
There are no big changes on the Wall Street today, after Google danced around and penalized websites by reducing so called “page rank”. Google stock closed at $675.82 just 5 cents more than it closed yesterday.
In fact it does not look to have any effect at all on how the stock traded today, even though there was about $15 dip today around 11am, just about the time news about page rank penalties have hit the blogoshpere. The question is are the two connected?
It is a little bit puzzling that a CNNmoney geeky reporter did not even mention that there were some waves in the blogosphere over the penalties, considering the fact that CNN is owned by Time Warner who also owns AOL one of the largest Google’s partners.
If any one can make Google dance, it will be giants like eBay or Time Warner.
But what about us bloggers and small time players? Well I believe that that collectively we can deliver a strong message to big G. How? How about “No AdSense- No AdWords Day”? I believe that collectively we can send massage as strong ad eBay did once upon a time.
Update: If you read the comments on CNNmoney article, there is comment by a guy who sold all of his stock at $670- I wonder if he was a blogger???

Google just lost the Facebook bid as well

I know. I still think this will have impact along with combination of other factors. May be it is a good time to sell our Google investments???

i think a no adsense/adwords day will hurt me much more than it will hurt google.

Yes if you it is only you. Just think if every one on your list 100 did it. Just one day?

99.9% of the bloggers in the world didn't see a drop in pagerank today, I don't think why you would think this is CNN worthy.
in addition I'm not sure what message you would be trying to send?
“hey google, you aren't allowed to change your own ranking score!” doesn't make much sense.

I am not sure the update is over. However, I think it is a news worthy event.
They can change their score as much as they like. Being a publicly traded company transparency can help them a little.
Look I am the last one to worry. While I made some money in the past with TLA and reviews I did not make a killing so I am loosing nothing.
We all speculate that paid links may be the major cause. However punishment is not extended equally. Just be straight forward say “look guys you have heard we the big G do not like paid links and this is what we are going to do and this is how we are going to punish you”.
99% of bloggers were not affected, you right. They are only after the to 1% to send a message
While that to 1% may earn the most, they probably spend the most as well.

Just one more thing. I am as much of the internet user and they are loosing my trust.
They will not be a number one SE if people begin to loose trust in them.

I make most of my money via affiliate marketing and not on my main website. I don't like how the big G is playing the game so I knew it would be smart not to be dependent on them. I started out a PR 5 when I took the time to look in April. The last update it down to 4. During the first round that happened a few weeks ago it went down to a 3 and yesterday it went down to a 2. I have one advertiser that I got on my own and I occasionally write a paid review (perhaps two each month.) I'm not about to change my ways to please the big G. If they weren't such hypocrites I would have more respect for them.

I have long since given adsense the boot and personally could care less about PR as long as it doesn't hurt my SE rankings.
Frankly, it is amazing at how up in arms people have become about this.
