Cuil, Who Is That Dude?

I gues it is my time to write about Cuil- the most recent talk of the internet. I am not sure I am ready to set Cuil as default search engine just yet. Some of my websites that are consistently show up on the first page of Yahoo, Google and MSN, are nowhere to be found on Cuil for the same keywords.

And of course there is the “vanity search“. But wait! Who is that dude whose picture is shown nex to one of the results for my vanity search? Strangely the picture appears right next to a search result for on of my websites. Oh, well I may just look like that dude in picture…. 30 years from now.

Jocking aside, it is good to see competition in among the search engines. They will need to constantly innovate in order to stay on top- hopefully providing the best possible experience to internet users. Similar Posts:

Sageblogger.com Is 1421 Days Old?

Although I have purchased this domain only few weeks ago. I was surprised to find out that the domain is 1421 days or almost 4 years old. This actually makes it the oldest domain I ever owned:

I do not know what does it mean, however some experts think that age of the domain is factored into the rankings.

Of course this was a surprise and I needed to check what has been done with this domain in the past. It looks like the domain was purchased however there was never any real website hosted on it except GoDaddy’s landing page.

I wonder if there was any substantial period of time that domain was not registered and how would that affect it’s ability to rank. Oh well, maybe only the good folks at Seomoz know, but I do not mind at all see that bar more than half way to be full. Similar Posts:
