DataFeedFile Integration Example
The other day I came across MasterNerd- a website powered by datafeed integration solutions from DataFeedFile. One of the best examples I have seen so far.
I just wish there were more merchants at DataFeedFile, and less 4th click deals. In the past I actually e-mailed few affiliate managers to consider using websites like DataFeedFile. I believe many affiliate managers do not realize what are the benefits of such services.
One particular feature I like about DataFeedFile is that, if you follow MasterNerd‘s example, your website can actually provide a unique shopping experience to your visitors.
So if you are affiliate manager of a merchant that sells hundreds of products consider using websites like DataFeedFile. Not all affiliates are programmers- therefore offering them CVS, XML or other type of datafeeds makes no difference unless you provide them with a solution to use these feeds.

cool find.
Would you hope for search engine traffic or send paid traffic to it?
I think the search engine traffic would be hard to get if lotsa people start using this just like amazon affiliate stores right?

Mark,
From my experience PPC is very hard to utilize with 4th click merchants so I guess the natural traffic woudl be the best. I think John (the owner of this site) had did some work gaining links. The sites PR 4. I am going to alert him maybe he will give a better answer.

masternerd has 1700 mostly supplementals indexed in google. I'm not sure if that relates to much traffic or not but I'm thinking the more people that use this the harder it will be to get a site indexed.

I really do not know what kind of traffic the site has. I just e-mailed John let see what he says. I think that may be true about just any creative that was not created by an affiliate hiimself. I personally was not as successful with either DataFeedFile or GoldenCan.

1700 really???
I was looking yesterday and it was more like 150,000
hmmm. I am intersted to see what John-the owner of the website has to say.

Still showing 1700 at this query
http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.mastern…
however removing the www shows 165,000
site:masternerd.com
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Amasterner…
very nice

Hey Mark,
If you still follow this check out the site's page strength:

If he gets good MSN traffic he may be getting better results even if Google has them in suplemental results. I am very surprised though, I can bet my life it was more like 150,000 yesterday.

Sorry I did not notice it was in moderation. anyway, you got my curiousity going. some stats speak well for this site. I am wodering if he gets natural traffic how is it split between the big 3. I think that MSN traffic either paid or natural converts the most.

Hey guys,
Strange that Im showing 1700 from that datacenter. At one point I had 360,000 indexed and was getting 100-150 unique visitors a day. Looks like google is dumping my pages? I'm hoping there is a good update in my favor soon.
MSN has been tricky and yes I think if I could get indexed better there it would be my best bet. Weird though my products show up in products live & MSN shopping?
I have to agree that as more people use the script the harder it will be to get your pages indexed. I don't ever think I will get out of supplemental. I think the best bet for the future of my site and DFF would be to implement a more complete mod_rewrite so I can customize my URL's. As of yet they only provide this tool for the area where you compare prices. But they have left this tool open for more development.
My opinion is to stay away from PPC I have seen too many DFF users get irate when they lose out.
But the best feature of dff is its almost like a keyword tool. When you get a small stream of of traffic for a certain keyword phrase you can use it on a niche site or deep link it from your dff site.
Last X-Mas the big phrase for me was the IDF-1030 Digital Picture Frame.

Thanks for the nice response John!
I bookmarked it, installing it is on the todo list, just not sure where on the todo list it's going yet
By John, March 19, 2007 @ 8:20 pm
I'm glad to hear it, and thanks Vlad for the kudos. My site has gone thru a bunch of re-designs and I think I finally have the look I wanted.
Andrew at DFF is eager to help although sometimes response times can be slow. If I have a major problem I just give him a call. Many of the features at dff were ideas from affiliates who use the tools. They like to think of the project as “open source”. But there isn't any source code we can play with, open source ,I think relates, to implementation of ideas outside of DFF.
I'm trying to help the system grow some and started a site which could be beneficial to newbies to DFF. Check it out at http://dff.masternerd.com Right now it lacks content but if it works out I'll slap it up on its own domain.
