Feedback: Advertising on CostPerNews
March 26, 2007 – 8:33 amA while back I have decided to purchase advertising on Cost Per News- one of my favorite blogs about affiliate marketing. My decision was not influenced by any strategy in terms of SEO or otherwise. I was simply grateful to Sam Harrelson for providing such a great blog.
Before I proceed any further I would like to assure my readers that it is not my intention to create hype of any type. In the past I have experimented with AdBrite advertising on my website. Every time some one purchased weekly (or longer) advertising on my website, I would send them an e-mail asking to install tracking code and after the advertising was completed I would write another e-mail to these advertisers asking them for a feedback. Needless to say that I have suspended AdBrite ads (at least for now) on this blog due to the overwhelming negative results my advertisers achieved. So if anything I like this to be a feedback for Sam himself.
While I have purchased only one week advertising on Sam’s blog, the results where great. If you have read my blog, you might remember I was trying to beat the the “Impaler” for the term “Vlad” in Google search results. This attempt coincided with the time of placing text link ad on CostPerNews. Just to clarify, I did use “Vlad” as an anchor text in the ad. So the progress in the Google was nice, in one week or so, my blog moved up to 11th position for the term “Vlad” from about 600th. Coincidently it stalled now at 11th position after my advertising stopped on CostPerNews.
If you are writing about affiliate marketing or are affiliate manager(great place to recruit new affiliates) Sam’s blog can be just the right place to advertise your website. Check out the details about contributing to CostPerNews. It is hard to get a better deal than that!
P.S. I suggest you to hurry. Sam has not changed the prices since the creation of his blog. Cost Per News turned out to be a great success achieving PR 5 on Google and 200+ RSS subscribers in short few months, and there are good indication that current PR will grow with the next update.

I appreciate it. To be honest if it was not because of BumpZee, which help me to discover so many great affiliate marketing blogs out there, I would probably never come to appreciate blogging.

Firstly CostPerNews is a great place to advertise and I'm delighted to be able to do a little thing to support the great content that is produced and is making me think.
Secondly - it's just the same over here Vlad, you have one of the best affiliate marketing blogs around.

Thank you! I am still discovering the beauty of blogging and how you can influence the industry, no matter how samll you are. But once again, I have been in affiliate marketing only one year, and actually did not start blogging until few months ago. Thanks again Sam.

I absolutely agree with you about palcing at least one month ad on Sam's blog. I am planing to do so in the future, while keeping my fingers crossed that he is not going to raise the prices lol.
The reason I did it only for one week was to spare Sam's reputation :) . My blog is nothing comparing to all you guys! But I am thinking of placing ads to some of my other websites.

Hey Vlad -
I'd definitely suggest getting a minimum of a month of advertising with Sam or anywhere.
Yes, you got the SE benefits in the week up there, but you're no longer there for Sam's visitors to click through to you.

I actually wanted to write this post in relation of having links/blogroll in your sidebar, since thre seems to be a dispute over how useful these links are. I am no SEO guru, but the results in my case proved some value of these links. You are welcome to use this post as you wish.
