Yesterday I had an absolute pleasure attending IANteract Meetup (courtesy of Ian Fernando). If you live in New Jersey, I highly recommend attending it. If you don’t live in New Jersey, consider creating one of your own. Not only will you benefit from meeting outstanding and talented bloggers and affiliate marketers, it will give you an opportunity to get your behind out and spend 2-3 hours not in front of your computer.
Our meetings (or at least I was left with such first impression) are in a form of an open forum. Everyone is free to ask questions and exchange ideas. I am looking forward to many more “meetups” in the future. For now I would like to summarize all of the “two cents” I was able to to add yesterday. They were generally about software and products I am using or have used in the past.
Word Press Ecommerce Plugin
Or simply WP Ecommerce– is a powerful plugin that can turn your WordPress into an ecommerce website. It might be helpful for you to read about running your WordPress ecommerce plugin on a secure server. You might want to consider running your WordPress on a secure server if you will decide to collect personal information such as addresses, credit cards etc.
Affilistore
Affilistore is a platform that allows you to create websites featuring thousands of products using merchants data feeds. I have written in the past about Affilistore, while some features had changed since then, my review can help you to see what Affilistore is all about.
WordPress Datafeed Import
I have used WordPress Datafeed Import in the past and also written a short review about it. In essence this plugin turns the data (from merchant’s datafeed) into individual WordPress posts. You have an option to “future schedule” all the post. Since I have abandoned using it, you should consult with the owner of this script. If my memory serves me well the last time I used this script was with WordPress 2.1 or maybe even longer than that.
PRWeb
If you are looking to draw publicity, links and traffic to your new startups or even existing websites, PRWeb is one of those services not to be dismissed.
Of course the biggest benefit from meetup like this offers is an opportunity to meet great people. So below are few pictures I took.
One of the benefits of taking pictures is that I can’t post any self-incriminating pictures 😉 . But then of course there might be someone rolling the tape, which can be even worse:
Make sure to visit the websites of those who attended:
Hock Ng – Marketing Tools Review
Erik Ahlgren – Paravisions
Melissa Pichardo – Worldventures
Christine Tse and Victor Wong – On The Go Digital
Brandon Hoffman- AdHustler
Thiago Prado – What About Brazil
Sorry if I miss anyone. Feel free to comment and leave the link to your website and/or blog.
whew no incriminating pics! great meeting!
Look forward to the next one. One thing that I would like to see taking place is to document better all the ideas, tools, services, websites we talk about. I would not mind doing it…. If I can ever be on time 🙂
