Make Money By Showing News Videos On Your Blog.

June 8, 2007 – 8:25 pm

In my previous post I have attempted to experiment with a new way of monetizing my blog by showing videos to my visitors. This is certainly not the first time some one made an attempt to monetize video content on the Internet. The News Room offers a very unique way to make money with your blog.

My readers are well aware that I am very big fan of PRWeb, and that I often use PRWeb as the source for news. The News Room reminded me very much of PRWeb, you can show related news the only difference is that with The News Room you are getting paid to do so. While there is an opportunity for blogger to show news related press releases, videos and even images in exchange for earnings starting at CPM of $1, AdSense and other products currently pay as low as $0.25 per thousand of impressions.

All videos are organized by categories and subcategories. So on any given day a blogger can find a video from Apple announcing iPhone sale date to Paris Hilton returning into prison. In the example below I have chosen the video-feed for business and corporate related news.

One of the best features of The News Room is that it allows website owners to put latest relevant news on their website in a timely manner. The videos in th post earlier today are in fact updating quite frequently, generally as soon as they are available at The News Room.

Unfortunately I can not quiet understand how the tracking is done in order to pay the participating blogger. I would use the service even if I could not make money with it.

  3. Sounds like a great idea, and I had not heard of it, but can you get a “smaller” video feed? That one is just to big to put on a blog.

  4. Yes you can customize the feed. Also that the post itself probably is not the best place to have the feed featured. Sidebar would be probably the best place.

  6. I started using News Room about two weeks ago, and I recently got an update that they’re going to be putting in a stats area so you can follow their impressions. Also, you’ll want to add a notice in your feed if it doesn’t support the script. Awesome post. :)

  7. Thanks Tinu,

I think the tip about feed is a good idea. My feed does not support it.
