New Amazon Context Link Are Almost Perfect

It has been a while since last time I logged into my Amazon associate account. I guess the lack of success with their associate program determines how often I actually check in to see what is happening. If it was not for Paranav post about New Amazon Context Links, I would not visit amazon soon. I have to agree with Paranav about Amazon stepping up a notch and may very well show that Google CPA can be competed with.

Here is an example of this link in action on one of my other websites:

Amazon Context Ad

Why almost perfect?

In the past I have experimented with similar scripts from Kontera, AdBrite and even Snap. These links behave unexpectedly and may frustrate your visitors. Due to this reason I have not installed the script on this blog and I wish Amazon would come up with a similar solution to what Snap has implemented:

  • It's a good solution.

Amazon Context Links have been discontinued, unfortunately.
  • Really? I did not know that.
  • Astralis
They ceased running it in October (or somewhere near there). It was always a "beta". They did make an announcement about pulling it but never gave a reason so I can only speculate why it was retired. It was the most successful Amazon Associates system I used and I've been thinking of building my own using REST because it was very successful for me.
