Nvu For Ubuntu

June 30, 2007 – 8:30 pm

Moving to Ubuntu was the greatest experience. Initially I was a little worried to find suitable application that would replace at least those that I used the most in Windows. One of those applications was Nvu.

nvu.pngNvu, is a great HTML editing application for limited programmers like myself. I have used Nvu to create countless landing pages and developing affiliate mini sites. It is extremely easy to use and has WYSIWYG editor interface. In fact Nvu is one of my top used applications. Needless to say that when switching to Ubuntu I was a little preoccupied that I may no longer be able to use Nvu. To my surprise, I found that the Ubuntu compatible version was readily available at Nvu download page (look under “User Submitted Contribution”).

Ubuntu is having big impact of how I understand “free” software. It began to resonate with me a in “freedom” rather than as in “price”- that is the true beauty and power of open source applications.
