If it has been a while since you logged into your PRWeb account no is a good time. PRWeb made some major enhancements in the user interface. According to a most recent press release PRWeb’s platform now includes:

Enhanced Search – PRWeb’s search algorithm and interface now index a broad range of PRWeb content including images, trackbacks and podcasts, allowing readers to easily locate all PRWeb content. Additionally, users can generate an RSS feed based on their results, creating a live search for the same criteria in their viewer and website.

Improved News Content Management – PRWeb will now provide users with a file management system to store all their multimedia content in one centralized location. Incorporating an AJAX-based interface, users can easily drag-and-drop news images and file attachments into their releases.

If you like PRWeb trackbacks, chances are you may have also tried PRWeb’s Blog This. “Blog This” is a feature that allows bloggers to write about press releases without leaving PRWeb’s website and without login into your blog. The feature has sparked my curiosity in the past, but I stopped using it due to one flaw.

Using the interface provided by PRWeb to post on your blog, it was not possible to assign your posts to a desired category. What that meant in practice was that you would still have to login into your blog in order to “tag” your post properly.

Today I was working on few things in my PRWeb account and decided to check out the feature again. I was pleasantly surprised to see that PRWeb now pulls in the categories from your blog so you can tag your post accordingly:

PRWeb is offering now an option to include a video along with your press release.

YouTube, Google Video and Yahoo Video, are widely used in marketing efforts across the Internet today. It was natural for PRWeb to begin to offer this option to advertisers.

In a press release announcing the new feature, PRWeb shows how a video can be used in a press release. The service is included in PRWeb’s Media Visibility package .

I am personally surprised that it took this long for PRWeb to introduce this feature.

From a blogger point of view and some one who writes quite frequently about news using PRWeb as one of the sources, I would like to see this new feature to be incorporated in Blog This- a feature that allows bloggers to write about PRWeb news without needing to be logged into their ow blogs. At the present only images associated with a press release can be embedded via Blog This feature.Similar Posts:

Since being introduced to PRWeb trackbacks, I have been referencing quiet often press releases on this and my other blogs. While you may not receive a trackback from every single press release I have been complying a list of PRWeb Authors, from who’s releases I have received trackacks either immediately in cases when the author of a press release choses give trackbacks automatically, or those authors who have given me trackbacks few days after referencing thier press releases.

Please remember that the authors of press releases at PRWeb can decide on how trackbacks are approved and this can change from one press release to another.

So here is my list:

Kathy Sheehan, PRWeb- the Online Visibility Company. Kathy takes care of all the exciting news on PRWeb and her press releases seem to be giving trackbacks to bloggers automatically. I have referenced several of her press releases on this blog. Take a look the following press release about PRWeb Easy Submit (a PR 6 page)- there is a trackback to my blog.

Angela Mithell writes press releases on behalf of Yugster. There is currently only one press release by Angela, but that was one the first press releases that I have attempted to receive a trackback. Trackback was given automatically.

Ken McGaffin writes press releases on behalf of of Wordtracker. The trackback was given automatically.

Erica Forrette writes press releases on behalf of Adapt Technologies. I have referenced only one out of four press releases by Erica. The press release I have referenced was not enabled to automatically approve tracebacks, but after chatting with Erica I asked to to approve the trackback from the following press release.

David Meerman Scott, some of his press releases give trakcbacks automatically.

Randy Zlobec writes press releases on behalf of The Hoffman Group. If you blog about real estate (in particular about Myrtle Beach Real Estae)- tracebacks approved by the author of press release.

Peter Ejtel writes press releases on behalf of SharedReviews.com, trackbacks are given automatically.

Last but not least yours truly. I use PRWeb to give an extra push to my Web Hosting Review Blog. While I approve all trackbacks manually, I discriminate only against “splogs” and “shady websites”, if you have a blog and would like to receive a trackback from following press release, just reference this press release on you blog by linking to it- a web hosting related website or blog a BIG PLUS. Make sure that your post’s pingbacks are enabled. I generally check the statistics of my press releases once a day and your track back should appear within 24 hours of posting on your blog- if this does not happen do not hesitate to contact me.

The reason I have decided to compile a list of PRWeb Authors who gave me trackbacks in the past is that I will keep an eye on their future press releases and are very likely to write about their products again in the future. Are you a using PRWeb? If so, I highly recommend to use the power of trackbacks to generate an extra buzz in the blogosphere about your company and its products! And please stop by later to let me and my readers know that you have enabled trackbacks in your press releases.Similar Posts:

If you were following my blog for some times now, you may be well aware of big of a fan I am of PRWeb and all the wonderful features it has to offer. If you have never used PRWeb in the past it may be a challenge to find your way navigating the website and familiarizing with all options.

Back in February PRWeb has introduced what is called Easy Submit. This option allows busy professionals, who do not have that much of free time, for an extra $100 a hands-off press release submission. With this option you are able to send all materials- press release, images, URLs to PRWeb editor who in turn will prepare the press release for you before it goes live.Similar Posts:

If you received pingback to your blog from this post it’s only for two reasons:

You are a woman.

I am subscriber to your blog.

The reason for this post is to help spread the word about one wonderful offer I have benefited from.

A while back I have discovered Empower Women Now, and have benefited from a wonderful offer that got me a $200 PRWeb Press Release, for which I am very grateful. But I feel a little guilty because I know that Ponn- the author of Empower Women Now intended to help women with PRWeb offer.

Her offer is very simple- participate in one of PRWeb webinars and get $200 towards your press release. I was not sure how can I help to spread the word about this great offer, so I have decided to do so by linking to blogs that are authored by women and to which I subscribe. If you in turn can spread the word about this offer on your own blog, chances are many women can benefit from it.

I Subscribe to Following Blogs By Women Entrepreneurs:

Newspapergrl- a blog about affiliate marketing and Internet marketing by Janet Meiners, she just recently wrote nice post about article marketing.

I am a huge fan of PRWeb and intend of using its services even more, and even plan replace some of my ongoing PPC campaigns with one time top levels press releases. For the past few moths I have been exploring “Trackback” feature of PRWeb as a blogger. And now I have an opportunity to take this feature on as an advertiser.

Unfortunately, I can’t get a trackback from my own press release. I probably should not complain, since thanks to Ponn’s Offer, I got a $200 level press release absolutely for free, which by the way brought me already $160 in commissions since going live yesterday. So there one more reason I should to complain, and to be honest this is not the purpose of this post. PRWeb trackbacks are wonderful toll to generate a buzz in blogosphere about your product or website. It seems as though this feature does not work perfectly every time you reference a press release.

I have to say that support over at PRWeb is superb. Speaking to Linda from customer service, we have attempted to resolve the problem. But it seems as though following post refuses to send trackback to the following press release.

In theory any website that uses “trackbacks/pingbacks”, not only ones powered by WordPress, can notify PRWeb about referencing a particular press release. It see as though my blog here is not doing that great of a job.

While I have better understanding of how WordPress works, but when it comes to trackbacks the only thing I know that it works…. well some times. Unfortunately I have no idea which WordPress files are responsible for executing (sending and receiving) trackbacks and whether or not these files change from theme to theme. But here are my reasons, albeit limited, as to why PRWeb ignores trackbacks from my blog:

There is something wrong with theme I am using.

My site was cut by a spam application (if such is in place) some where along the way. I did receive few track backs in the past (see following posts: Yugster, Adapt Technologies, WordTracker ). Some of these trackbacks appeared on PRWeb instantaneously.

There is something wrong on PRWeb side. Unlikely but possible.

Now I just wish some one from PRWeb comes across this post and offer their comments/advice. I did submit a ticket about this issue at PRWeb as well, so I will be posting more about it in the future.Similar Posts:

I have decided to give an extra “push” to my Web Hosting Review Blog via PRWeb Press release. I have never done a press release at $200 level and I will be following the results closely here on my blog. So Far I am pleasantly surprised.

My Press Release in Google News.

At $200 level your PRWeb press release is available for “pick up” by Google News. So I have decided to search Googe News and there it was my press release was #1 for “web hosting”- I am sure this position will change but here is the screen shot to record it down in history:

My Press Release in Yahoo News.

My press release had the same #1 position in Yahoo News for “web hosting”.

Trackbacks Enabled.

I have enabled trackbacks for this press release so please stay tuned for a surprise later today- I will offer you an opportunity to get a link from PRWeb. How is it possible? I am a big fan of PRWeb Trackbacks, and if you have a blog I recommend you looking into it as well.Similar Posts:
