Thoughts About 3rd Episode of The Next Internet Millionaire
After watching the first episode of The Next Internet Millionaire, I was not sure if I will follow the show. So I missed completely episode #2, and if it was not for my good Internet buddy Mark over at 45n5, I would probably miss episode #3 as well.
The third episode caught my eye. While I like a good game of poker, I do not consider myself a great player. I do however have some experience in Real Estate. Even though I let my real estate license expire, there are certain things I have learned that will stay with me for a long time. Things that I use, unconsciously and sometimes consciously, in affiliate marketing.
So when I watched the episode #3 of The Next Internet Millionaire, I forced myself to watch the looooooong 49 minutes of the show, simply because it had to do with real estate. The teams where given a challenge to “re-launch” the marketing campaign of a house that was on the market for 18 months without any offers. I am not sure whether it was done to protect the privacy of the home-owners, but I did not notice the teams discussing or asking questions about the price of the house.
Every Real Estate Agent will tell you that one of the major reasons that house does not sell is that sometimes house is overpriced. Granted, only one contestant had a background in Real Estate, however her suggestion to increase the prise by $25,500 per day for the last eight days of the marketing time raised a few questions about her experience in Real Estate.
Why do I think price should have been discussed while creating the marketing plan? Simple. Every buyer in order to make an offer needs a number.
How is this relevant to affiliate marketing, or if you wish to a “product launch”. When choosing an affiliate program I always consider the price of a product or service. I have come across products or services that were overpriced, and sometimes price difference of $20 turned me into a buyer.
Anyway watch the video below, if you have 49 minutes to spare, and tell me what you think.
