Carsten Cumbrowski has a great write up on AvantLink and its API. I am not that big on reporting side of the APIs but I always look for an easy away to get product feed from the merchants I work with. I have grown to feel conformable with CSV datafeeds and will definetely give AvantLink a closer look. Thanks Carsten!
I have experienced nice “waves” of traffic from StumbleUpon to this blog as well as to my other websites. In fact I believe that SupmbleUpon traffic can be as good as Digg’s if not better. Meg just wrote a nice beginners guide to StumbleUpon– you should read it if you have never used StumbleUpon in the past. If you have, Meg’s post is a great place to offer your own tips, so head over and dip into the conversation.
You know that getting good top positions in search engines, especially in Google you need backlinks, some times lots of them. Kieron gives a nice practical rundown on getting backlinks to your websites.
Tip for Bloggers: I have contemplated in the past on whether or not I should post “linkup” articles on my blog. In the past I thought that by doing so I will be “crying” for attention. I was wrong. If you decide to link to other blogs especially to those that you yourself learn from it only ads to the quality of your own blog.
I agree that StumbleUpon traffic is superb. While Digg can be worthwhile, successful articles usually mean a surge of traffic that will crash your server. With SU, traffic is spread out over several days and can last for weeks.
