There are some new statistics in Google Sitemaps. According to the information which you can find inside your account Google is reporting only those subscribers that subscribe to your feed using Google:
If your site publishes feeds of its content, this page will display the number of users who have subscribed to these feeds using Google products such as iGoogle, Google Reader, or Orkut. Because readers can use other sites and aggregators to subscribe to your content, your total number of subscribers from all sources may be higher. Also, these stats list only those feeds with actual subscribers. If your site publishes a feed that does not currently have any Google subscribers, it will not be listed.
Comparing to the FeedBurner Statistics my blog has about 50-70 “Google Feedfetcher” subscribers, while Google Sitemaps is reporting only 38:
I do not think the gap is significant.
I have seen same thing with my blog, there is some variation between google result and feedburner result. it seems to be strange. i hope it will be short out soon.
