A while ago Google Adwords has implemented new feature that enables advertisers to define positioning of your ad for every keyword. Most web masters and advertisers agree that 2-10 is the best position for your ad among sponsored listings. While 1st position may produce most clicks, it may not bring the most qualified visitors to your site. At VJ Advertising Solutions we have tried using positioning setting in our advertising, the results are not consistent enough to either approve or disapprove this feature at Google AdWords. The is only one consistent element; if you set positioning preferences to 2-10 you will most likely to receive less impressions (and clicks). So the best prcatical advise would be excluding your ad from #1 position, and setting 10+ positioning for lower positions. Please leave a comment if your experience is different.
