Making My Readers Famous

Darren at problogger.net has really great article about acknowledging the readers of your blog. The article Make Your Readers Famous is very short, and well worth reading.

My first reaction after reading the article was: “yeah, right! Nice of you you to say. I don’t get 2000 readers a day on my blog!” But then I remembered that although I do not get that many visitors I did have few people commenting on my posts, and just recently I have installed a tool from MyBlogLog which, if you are a member of the MyBlogLog, will show your name and maybe even your picture, as is shown at the bottom of my blog’s sidebar.

I think it is wonderful idea to acknowledge your readers and thank them for reading your website. I actually just have creatd a category named “My Famous Readers”. So here it goes, the first person I will acknowledge and thank for visiting this website is Lorelle VanFossen, since she was the first one to ever comment on one of my posts, although I have discovered one of her blogs long before she ever noticed mine.

So who is Lorelle VanFossen? Lorelle is a public speaker, instructor, writer, consultant on web writing and web design, blogging, she has a wealth of knowledge about working with WordPress and I am sure that many of WordPressers in one point have found her site while looking for tips and advise on how to improve their WordPress powered site. Her other website is Taking Your Camera on the Road where she provides great information on travel, nature photography and life on the road.

I have started to visit her website shortly after I was introduced to WordPress, and since then had become a fan with a RSS (Real Simple Syndication) subscription so I do not miss a single post and article on her website. If you are new to WordPress and are still learning how to use it, Lorelle’s Blog is a must!
