If you are an affiliate and looking for good source of information BumpZee! is a must join community!
In the past variety of blogs would satisfy my thirst for learning about affiliate marketing. I still visit them, but I find myself more drawn to BumpZee lately since most of the blogs I use to visit in the past are now in one place. But even more, there are some good discussions are happening as I write.
A while ago I wrote about Gene Kavner and his latest series on “affiliate cookie life”. Gene’s article sparked a dicussion which I found very educational to say the least. While I am not sure where do I really stand on a cookie life, and as of now I am not bothered with Amazon’s 24 hours cookie. At least for now as long as it is paying for the domain I use to promote the promote the product. Truth to be told that among other programs, Amazon is the least profitable on my list. Granted, I am new to affiliate marketing but if the same ability and creativity applied across all my merchants, the result is that with the longer cookie life I tend to be more successful. Actually as it stands today, Amazon is the only merchant I work with that has 24 hours cookie life. Generally I look for a merchants that offer at least 30 days long cookie life. Lastly since other merchants (with longer cookie life) are performing better, I spend less and less time and effort on websites that promote Amazon products.
Anyway, go to BumpZee to follow up or join in on the discussion on the affiliate cookie life.
On the other hand, there is new gadget developed by Scott that allows you to put a BumpZee button on your blog. I hope you will see this button soon on my site as well. I am ready Scott! 🙂
