Yes, I have seen it today. And to be honest I was not impressed by Travolta’s performance this time around. Of course you will judge it for yourselves! But I felt like there was something missing in Travolta’s performance. When interviewed by Oprah John Travolta said that it was his idea to make Tracy’s “mother” “as curvaceous as possible” so it can better convey the softness his character. In my opinion either they did not make her curvaceous enough or simply Travolta did not live up to his own expectations.
Anyway, if you can appreciate good choreography then you should see the movie. But do not expect much of Travolta’s performance. It fact while watching the movie I thought of two actors who could have done a much better job: Robin Williams or Martin Lawrence. Either one of the could have done better job than Travolta but that is my opinion. Feel free to differ.
Mrs. Doubtfire (Robin Williams)
Big Momma (Martin Lawrence)
Do Not Wait In Line Use:
I have no idea why Hollywood is so in love with remaking movies that don't need to be remade. No wait, I do. They're out of ideas and afraid to take risks.
Hairspray (the original) is a classic. They did Texas Chainsaw, why not do The Exorcist next (one of the greatest movies ever made, horror or otherwise).
Waiting for remakes of Citizen Kane, Star Wars, and Rocky Horror next.
