UPDATE: I was corrected by a BumpZee! member about the widget. It uses “javascript”. No intention to mislead anyone with this article. It is most likely that Google pays more attention to BumpZee!’s front page.
I was surprised to see my recent article about AWeber (I wrote it yesterday!) already indexed in Google. It also shows up on the first page for “aweber“. My guess is that the reason behind it is that many affiliates have placed the BumpZee! widget on their blogs. The one that shows BumpZee!’s top entries, just like you see on the sidebar of this blog.
The above mentioned post get “bumped” seven times so far and good amount of comments kept the link to the entry on BumpZee! widget for some time. So I believe Google has noticed this link on so many blogs and followed it to BumpZee! then in turn to my blog. What a pleasant surprise!
I think the purpose of this article is to first of all thank all members of BumpZee! Affiliate Marketing Community for enabling top entries in their widgets. And of course to show you that being generous with your outgoing links (be it in your posts or sidebar) can benefit you more than you think. So turn on your top entries in your widget. On my part I am increasing the number of entries to 16 (double the amount I showed before publishing this post).
Hadn't thought of that, Vlad.
I bumped my “Top Entries” up to 8 when I first installed the plugin last month b/c I use that widget as a way to check what's going on there without having to visit and thought 4 was too few.
16 is a ton, but it's nice to think of your fellow bumpers. Maybe I'll goose mine up to 12.
Thanks for helping me brainstorm!

Sam I made an update. The widget uses “javascript”. I had not intention to misslead anyone with this post.
