I did not want to write about the WidgetBucks without actually trying it myself. As you can see from the title of the post I am not swept off my feet by it.
There are two major reasons why I dislike the program:
- Although it is easy to configure and place it on your website, but once its on your website or blog it may take really long time for the widget to load, while preventing your website from loading completely.
- I have a problem with the fact I forbidden to remove html links by Mpire.
Don’t waste your time! You can make better money with AuctionAds and even Amazon.
I've heard mixed reviews on it. Some people really like WidgetBucks and say that it outperforms adsense.
I would put WidgetBucks on my son's lego site, but the categories that are available don't really work with the theme of his site. Right now their categories are a bit limited.

Mom 🙂
I am very suspicious about WidgetBucks outperforming AdSense. The initial reviews were hyped up by many who got in early on- they were pushing it to get referrals.
I think you will be much better off using Amazon affiliate program for your website.
Thanks Vlad. Right now it's just adsense and Amazon. We have yet to make revenue. So far, we've got over 1500 video views on youtube for his lego show, but that's not converting to revenue. (Of course the site is only 2 weeks old).
I'm going to look around your site, to see if you have any blog posts about astore.
I'm thinking about doing a Google adwords campaign to go right to my son's astore. I'm curious as to what the conversion tends to be, and to get tips from successful astore entrepreneurs.

Thanks for the heads up on that one. I have it in my blog but I haven't seen any earnings on it yet…even though I know they are delayed. What would you say is the biggest income earner for you? I would really like to know??
My biggest money maker is certainly not based on pay per click.
Also it would be unfair to point out a single merchant so as networks go Commission Junction (50+ merchants) brings me the most income.

I agree with you on one point — the hidden link really sucks and is surely not welcome.
But as far as payouts are concerned, it outperforms AdSense by a long way.
I've used it on one of my websites and the CPC payouts are quite remarkable as well.
Don't rule it out so quickly.

Seth,
I am glad it is working for you. I am just approaching things from the angle of a an affiliate marketer- you can sign up directly with many of the merchants featured via WidgetBucks and make more money.
Thanks for stopping by!

Yes, I won't try it with my blog too because it doesn't match with my blog's topics. At least my readers are not widgetbuck targeted

Actaually I have some tech gadget related blogs and widgetbucks bring a little more than adsense for them. but if your site is not related to tech then don't waste your time..

I also agree that the electronics / tech widgets are the more profitable ones till now. Maybe they'll add new categories soon.
