I the recent days I have come across following statements on the blogs that are installing dofollow plugin:
“If comments are going to get out of control, I will most likely go back to nofollow”
If this is how you feel, it is very shallow thinking. Yes I just called you shallow and hope that you take time to find out the purpose of nofollow and whether or not it belongs in the links in the blog comments. And then, based on your findings, either install or do not install one of so many DoFollow Plugins. Don’t just do it because your friend did it or you need more comments on your blog. Take a stand on the issue.
Have a nice weekend!
Ray,
Do you mean whether removing “nofollow” will bring more traffic?
In my humble opinion this a pluging that reflects the “giving” side of the blogger implementing it. The main benefactors of this plugin are the people who live the comments. I personally can not tell if DoFollow plugin brought me any traffic. I know that I have benefited greatly from commenting on other peoples blogs that removed nofollow….. Again this is a sort of “giving” on my part, as thank you to those who take time commenting on my blog.
As for my URL it is a very long story. However I have learned a thing or two along the way. Here are few posts you may be interested in:

I whole-heartedly agree with Everett on this one. I was going to go into more detail, but he already said everything better than I would have said it 🙂

Egon,
No offense but you don't even use “nofollow” on your blog.

I don't agree with you on this. The beauty of blogging is such that it allows us to express who we are.

Then does it make it wrong that while my comments do not have the no follow on them I screen obvious spam comments? if someone has their name as cheep handbags and posts on a blog about code I will not display the comment unless it is of substantial value. If they post on a blog remotely related to what they are clearly trying to link build on, I will allow the comment if it is at least in context.
